PARANS

Geographic Parans are the most profound astrological phenomenon.

Shown on the map as coloured lines, PARANS are largely overlooked by astrologers. This is surprising given that Geographic Parans underpin or undermine, all other astrological interpretations.

We each have a unique map, calculated from our TIME, DATE, and PLACE of birth.

Parans represent the combined effect of any two major bodies in our solar system.

These 140 mile/ 225km wide rings, alter the impulses in our lives. Moving closer to certain Parans or moving away from others can improve our life.

There are 45 major Parans, links to descriptions below. In the 1970’s, Location Astrology pioneer, Jim Lewis, attempted to summarise the effect of each Paran. Close study of Jim’s interpretations, supported by personal and third party experience, seemed to indicate he had missed something.

Astrology uses 5 Major Aspects, combinations formed by the same 10 bodies as the Parans. These Aspects are one of the main features of our personal horoscope. They describe our behaviour with great accuracy. In general, Conjunctions, Sextiles and Trines, describe departments of life where we experience harmony, whereas Squares and Oppositions describe friction.

It appears that each Paran contains the range of possibilities characteristic of each Aspect. Wherever you are, knowledge of your Paran(s) offers the possibility to consciously cultivate the positive tendencies. Lack of awareness of these possibilities will result in the more negative traits of mechanical behaviour. Even the Parans that apperar most favourable contain their traps. Just as the most testing alignments offer possibilities for internal growth and development.

Not all 45 Parans occur within normally accessible latitudes.
Due to earth’s curvature, we tend to have fewer Parans nearer the equator.
Areas without Parans can also occur in north and south latitudes and for many, represent the best locations. Parans are identical in the northern and southern hemispheres.
